The 2022 Maruti Celerio was spied during a TV commercial shoot
Maruti Suzuki’s second-generation Celerio has been spied undisguised ahead of launch, recently.
Expected to be introduced later this month, bookings are to officially commence shortly, the city runabout is visually bigger than its predecessor.
Although its design patent got leaked back in June, providing a clear idea about the exterior styling of the new Celerio, the finished article does present more details.
Maruti has given the second-generation Celerio an aggressive front fascia. A pair of new headlights flank the small radiator grille, while chrome strips run from the headlight to the grille.
The air intake below and the fog lamps to its sides are all placed within a blacked portion of the bumper which also has a small lip section.
Along the sides, we see that the recently spied 2022 Maruti Celerio rides on alloys, the design of which was revealed in the patent, that do not fill the arches.
The ORVM has indicators integrated into them and there are flap-type door handles which show that Maruti has cut costs where it can.
At the back, the car comes with new wrap-around tail lights and a restyled bumper with reflectors inserted in them. There is even a rear windscreen wiper on the spied model.
Although Maruti has only made use of 2 models painted in a shade of Red and Blue for the TVC, there will be other colours like Silver and White, to name a couple, on offer as well.
Overall, although the recently spied 2022 Maruti Celerio looks fresh, one cannot ignore the fact that its styling has been inspired by other models (the Baleno in particular) from the carmaker’s stable.
No proper interior image of the cars used for the TVC shoot is available. But, it will come with a black interior with metallic accents. There will also be circular side air vents, while familiar switchgear and features (like in the Wagon R) should be present.
When it gets launched, which could be later this month, the hatchback should cost more than the current model which is priced between Rs. 4.66 lakhs and Rs. 6 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
