Mahindra has not revealed the models that are subjected to the latest vehicle recall campaign
Mahindra has initiated a vehicle recall campaign to check for premature wear caused by contaminated fuel in 600 of its diesel cars.
All of the models covered under the campaign were manufactured between 21st June and 2nd July at Mahindra’s facility in Nashik.
The factory is said to have received contaminated diesel fuel during the said period which is suspected to have caused wear on certain diesel engine parts.
As part of the Mahindra vehicle recall campaign, owners of the cars which have been affected will be contacted and once they are brought in, the vehicles will be inspected and if issues are found, they will be fixed free of charge.
At present, the automaker has not disclosed details about models that have been affected due to the usage of contaminated fuel.
This is not the first time the carmaker’s diesel models have been recalled this year. Back in February, Mahindra had to bring in 1577 units of the new generation Thar to inspect and replace the 2.2-litre mHawk 130 diesel engine’s camshaft.
Mahindra had stated that a select number of camshafts produced at its supplier’s plant had defects due to a machine-setting error. These were then fitted to the identified Thar units.
The affected Thar models were manufactured between 7th September, 2020 and 25th December, 2020, said Mahindra while it rolled out the recall campaign earlier this year.
