2021 Land Rover Defender 90 Launched, Priced From Rs. 76.57 Lakhs

Land Rover has increased the price of the Defender 90 for 2021 before sales begin

Land Rover has commenced sales of the 2021 Defender 90, the price tag of which begins from Rs. 76.57 lakhs (ex-showroom), today in India.

Model year 2021 Defender 90 is available in several variants including Standard, S, SE, HSE, First Edition, X-Dynamic (in S, SE and HSE forms) and X.

The 3-door variant of the Defender is not a large car by any means. It only measures 4323 mm long (without spare wheel) with a wheelbase of 2587 mm and 2008 mm wide (mirrors folded), but is rather tall at 1974 mm.

Carrying the same exterior and interior design as the Defender 110, the off-roader has minimal overhangs that provide it will excellent off-road geometry. Land Rover says the Defender 90 is the most capable model it has ever made.

Inside, although, the SUV has a short wheelbase, it comes with seating for 6 people (at a squeeze) thanks to the front central jump seat.

Even the base variant comes with features such as a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen, 8-way semi-powered front seats, keyless entry, 3D Surround camera, 360-degree parking aid, wade sensing, cruise control, auto-dimming IRVM, 2-zone climate control and more.

In addition, there is the configurable Terrain Response 2 system (includes a new Wade programme) which allows the vehicle to be set-up differently based on the off-road conditions.

There are 3 engine options on offer with the car. The 2.0-litre petrol puts out 296 BHP and 400 Nm of torque, the 3.0-litre 6-cylinder petrol engine makes 394 BHP and 550 Nm, while the sole 3.0-litre diesel is good for 296 BHP and 650 Nm. All come mated to an automatic transmission.

What’s more, customers will also be able to personalise their vehicle by choosing any of the 4 accessory packs – Explorer, Adventure, Country and Urban – which provide a range of enhancements.
