No car in the top 25 sales chart for June 2021 registered year-on-year (YoY) sales degrowth
Car sales recovered well in June 2021 as restrictions are gradually being revoked in the wake of reduced COVID-19 cases in the country.
The Wagon R from Maruti Suzuki topped the chart with close to 19,450 unit sales, and the Swift came next having registered sales of 17,727 units in June 2021.
Maruti’s Baleno (14,701 units) was placed third, Vitara Brezza (12,833 units) fourth, Dzire (12,639 units) fifth and Alto (12,513 units) sixth in the June 2021 car sales chart.
Hyundai’s best-selling car for June was the Creta compact SUV that registered sales of 9941 units this past month. It was closely followed by the Maruti Ertiga (9920 units).
Another Maruti that featured in the top 10 was the Eeco with 9218 unit sales, while the Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS (8787 units) came next.
As can be seen, 8 models from Maruti Suzuki occupied the top 10 positions in the list. In total, 11 cars from the carmaker feature in the top 25 sales chart.
Kia India had 2 products – Seltos (11th, 8549 units) and Sonet (15th, 5963 units) and Tata Motors had 3 vehicles – Nexon (12th, 8033 units), Altroz (13th, 6350 units) which defeated the Hyundai i20 (6333 units) by a sliver and Tiago (18th, 4881 units).
Mahindra too had 3 models featuring in the June 2021 car sales chart and they include the Bolero (16th, 5744 units), XUV300 (20th, 4615 units) and Scorpio (21st, 4160 units).
Fortunately, none of the 4-wheelers in the top 25 chart witnessed sales degrowth when compared to June last year.
