A 12 member jury comprising of automotive journalists have declared the International Car of The Year (ICOTY) award. The new 2011 Jaguar XJ has been given the 2011 International Luxury Car of the Year for its design and performance. The ICOTY awards were launched in 1997 at the North American International Auto Show and are the first auto awards to honor new vehicles based on the emotional connection between car and consumer.
