Tata Motors is planning to launch a cheaper variant of the Aria along with 4×2 variants of the crossover. The company has not been able to sell many units of its latest offering due to high perceived pricing. Indian customers don’t really want many features at extra price. The Aria costs a good Rs. 2-3 lakhs more than the segment leader Toyota Innova. The Aria will also loose many of its features to reduce the price to Innova levels. Tata Motors sold 98 units of the Aria last month but the company attributes the poor sales to the short supply of infotainment system.
