Interior images of a recently spotted pre-production mule of the Tata HBX have surfaced online providing a clear picture as to how the micro SUV will look like inside.
Spotted near Pune, the test mule looks to be that of the middle variant, for it features a small central touchscreen for the infotainment system.
Sporting the now familiar steering wheel used in Tata products, the HBX has an instrument cluster with a hood and horizontal air vents on the chunky dashboard.
While it is unlikely to be offered, a dual tone trim for the dash and door cards would work wonders inside the small SUV, especially when the top half of it is fitted with light-coloured material and plastic trim.
The thick A-pillars of the HBX also house speakers, while it looks like the door release levers have a gloss black finish to them.
Tata seems to have given the HBX rather tall seats upfront, which might not have adjustable headrests, while this particular test mule does not sport an armrest between them. However, the centre console looks neat, with some stowage space just under the air-con controls.
At the rear, the bench seat is flat and should seat 2 comfortably, for there seems to be decent legroom on offer. We are not sure if the rear headrests are adjustable and sadly, there seems to be no headrest for the middle passenger.
With the car having a decent glasshouse, its occupants will not find themselves wanting for more light and it is reported that the Tata HBX interior spotted recently reportedly had soft touch material on the door cards.
The micro SUV’s Harrier-inspired exterior has already been spotted and when it goes on sale, it is expected to feature a 1.2-litre petrol engine that can be had with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT.
