BMW India has launched the 3-Series M340i xDrive at a price tag of Rs. 62.90 lakhs (ex-showroom), today. This car becomes the very first performance model from the brand with an M engine to be made in India.
The performance figures are impressive, on paper at least, too. The 2998cc 6-cylinder turbo petrol motor makes a maximum of 387 HP at 5800 RPM and 500 Nm of torque from 1850-5000 RPM.
Mated to an 8-speed gearbox, the engine can send its power to all 4-wheels and thus, can do the 0-100 km/hr sprint in 4.4 seconds using launch control.
What’s more, this sporty 3-Series model comes with 4 driving modes, M Sport suspension, a variable sport steering, an M sport differential and M Sport brakes that sit behind 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped by 225/45-section front and 255/40-section rear tyres.
When it comes to the looks, the 3-Series M340i xDrive gets an ornamental grille, adaptive LED headlights with DRLs, larger air intakes in the front bumper with cerium grey embellishers, cerium grey mirror caps, an M aero pack, BMW Individual high-gloss shadow line elements, an M rear spoiler, LED tail lamps and twin exhausts.
There are 3 exterior colour options – Dravit Grey, Tanzanite Blue, Sunset Orange – available with the car and customers can also opt for a 19-inch wheel option.
Inside, the BMW 3-Series M340i xDrive price gets customers an interior with Alcantara Sensatec upholstery with Blue contrast stitching, pearl chrome trim finisher, an M Sport leather steering wheel with shift paddles, electric sunroof, electric front sport seats, M seat belts, and ambient lighting.
A 12.3-inch digital instrument display and the 10.25-inch touchscreen are joined by a head-up display, while the performance car also has a rear-view camera, gesture control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, among other features.
In addition, BMW offers the model with Parking Assistant tech, automatic start-stop function, active kidney grille, electric and heated ORVM, auto-dimming IRVM and plentiful safety features as standard.
BMW also offers 3 curated accessory packages – Enthusiast Pack, Racer’s Pack and Motorsport Pack – for the model that has been sold out till June 2021.
