2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Front
Looks like the Mitsubishi design team had a field day, for the SUV looks stunning

Mitsubishi has revealed the 2022 Outlander 7-seat SUV and right off the bat, it must be said, it looks smashing.

The first Mitsubishi car to benefit from the brand’s partnership with Nissan shares its underpinnings, powertrain and even bits of the interior with the latest Nissan Rogue, but has more seats.

Let us take a look at the design, shall we? At the front, there are sleek DRL units below which sit vertically stacked headlights. A thick chrome bar connects the DRLs with the headlights, while in the middle sits the large radiator grille. Of course, there is a skid plate at the front as well.

Thankfully, the side profile does not look bland, partly aided by the character line and by the upswept beltline, while a set of nice-looking alloys add some character as well.

When looked at from the back, the SUV maintains its crisp styling, featuring slim split tail lights, a large bumper with exhaust outlets on either end, while a roof spoiler is there too.

Much like the exterior, the interior of the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander looks rather good. Now, the 7-seat SUV comes with an 8-inch touchscreen (9-inch optional), a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, head-up display, electronic gear selector and air vents that span the width of the dash.

Due to a 35.5 mm increase in wheelbase, there is more space inside and Mitsubishi claims to have improved fit and finish in the cabin that comes with semi-aniline leather upholstery and aluminium trim on the centre console.

Under the hood, customers will find a 2.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine good for 181 BHP and 245 Nm. The SUV can be had with all-wheel-drive (called Super All-Wheel Control, nice!) as well and is said to be a tiny bit more fuel efficient than its predecessor.

Safety-wise, the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander has the MI Pilot Assist that adds adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist features, while there is automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, lane-departure intervention, predictive forward collision monitoring, and traffic sign recognition, as well.
