MG India Confirms Launch Of New Compact SUV This Year
The carmaker is set to launch 2 new products in India in 2021 as it continues to grow its product portfolio.
A new compact SUV is heading our way from the stables of MG Motor and it will be launched this year, thus taking the number of confirmed product launches from the firm this year to 2.
This was revealed by Chief Commercial Officer, MG Motor India, Gaurav Gupta, who, however, did not confirm that the new SUV would be a sub-4-metre model.
To be positioned below the Hector range which fetches the most sales for the firm every month, the new MG compact SUV will be its most affordable offering in India.
No more details about the upcoming MG compact SUV are available as of now. But, the car is expected to come powered by a petrol motor to say the least.
When launched, the most affordable MG product will rival the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Nissan Magnite, Hyundai Venue, among others and be priced around Rs. 10 lakhs (ex-showroom).
The carmaker is currently getting ready to launch the ZS petrol, which has been spotted on test several times already, by the first half of the year. It will look a bit different than the ZS EV and will likely be offered with 2 petrol engine options.
