The interior of the soon-to-be unveiled 2022 Mercedes C-Class has been spied and we are glad to report that it has a lot of the new S-Class’ parts.
At the centre of the new dashboard is the 12.8-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system borrowed from the S-Class. The 2022 C-Class will come with the same MBUX system as the S-Class.
Thus, the touchscreen can be used to access navigation, the car’s entertainment system and also houses the climate controls. The screen, which sits below the central air vents, even makes use of a fingerprint scanner, like a mobile phone.
A new digital instrument cluster, also taken from the top Mercedes luxury sedan will also be provided on the new C-Class. It, however, is not a 3D-enabled cluster. The head up display is also new and will be double the size of the older one.
Also new is the steering wheel. While the model spied was an AMG Line variant having the “supersports” flat-bottomed steering wheel with new controls, standard variants will feature a “sports” steering wheel which will be different.
In addition, the 2022 Mercedes C-Class interior will also have new seats and rear passengers will have more legroom, for the new model has a 25 mm longer wheelbase than the outgoing car.
Overall length, on the other hand, has been increased by 70 mm on the car that will also come equipped with a sunroof and ambient lighting.
On the outside, the AMG Line mule sports the “Night” pack, has power bulges on the bonnet, new LED headlights, a strong shoulder line, new LED tail lights with sweeping signature and a small boot lid spoiler.
All of the powertrains offered with the luxury sedan will feature mild-hybrid system that provides power and torque boost, while a plug-in hybrid petrol (315 HP and 650 Nm) with 100 km electric range will also be on sale. Rear-axle steering will be there too.
Set to be unveiled on 23rd February, the new 2022 Mercedes C-Class looks set to give the BMW 3-Series some rough nights after it gets launched.
