Toyota is working on the 2022 Land Cruiser and the luxury SUV has been spied, both inside and out, overseas.
Set to be unveiled by May this year, the carmaker’s flagship SUV comes with a large 4-slat radiator grille, triple pod LED headlights upfront and a huge tail gate along with revised bumpers all round.
While the side profile image of the 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser spied example is not available, expect it to be largely flat and tall, with a long wheelbase and enough ground clearance to go off-road without any trouble.
Overall, the exterior design of the car is likely to be more of an evolution, while inside, there will be a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system as standard, a semi-digital instrument cluster, multifunction steering wheel, electronic parking brake, among other features.
The stop-start button is rumoured to be feature a fingerprint scanner so as to identify different drivers and prime the car up according to each individual’s pre-set preferences.
Built on a new-generation platform, the new-generation “300” series model of the luxury SUV is expected to be powered by a range of 6-cylinder engines this time around and ditch the V8.
While the petrol motor would be a 3.5-litre unit, it would also be offered with hybrid assistance, the diesel motor will be a 3.3-litre turbo. A 6-speed automatic transmission would be the mainstay.
There will be drive modes and off-road modes offered with the SUV along with more new age features and connectivity options.
More updates about the 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser are expected to surface online ahead of the global unveil of the SUV.
