A famous saying goes with the wordings better late than never and Honda has just adapted that. After being thoroughly thrashed in the diesel dominated D-segment, Honda has finally decided to develop a compact diesel to power the new Civic. The company will first launch the diesel powered Civic in Europe in 2012 which will be powered by a 1.5 liter i-DTEC motor producing power in the range of 100bhp and 200Nm of torque. The same powerplant will do duty in our Civic and will help Honda India fight the Toyota Corolla and the Chevrolet Cruze with more ease but only in 2013, when the company plans to launch the Civic Diesel. Prices are expected to be Rs. 70,000/- more than its petrol counterpart.
