2021 Yamaha R3, R25 Revealed In Japan
The 2021 model year R3 will go on sale on 15th January next year in the land of the rising sun.
Yamaha has revealed the 2021 YZF-R3 for the Japanese market where it will go on sale come 15th January 2021.
The only change is the addition of 2 colour options, namely – Cyan Metallic and Matte Dark Gray Metallic, while the Deep Purplish Blue Metallic paint option is carried forward.
Although Yamaha is not known for funky paint options, with the introduction of the Cyan Metallic colour the firm has shown it can also launch such shades.
No other revisions have been made to the bike for the 2021 model year and it still features the twin LED headlights, LED tail light, digital cluster, clip-on handlebar, and the same sporty styling.
Optional accessories such as a special KYB rear suspension setup, sports windscreen, tank pad, and a graphics protector can also be availed of by customers in Japan.
The parallel-twin engine is the same as before, displacing 320cc and putting out 42 PS at 10,750 RPM and 29 Nm at 9000 RPM. It comes mated to a six-speed transmission.
For the Japanese market, the same visual update has been applied on the YZF-R25 as well. It costs 654,500 yen (Rs. 4.65 lakhs), while the slightly bigger R3 costs 687,500 yen (Rs. 4.89 lakhs) in Japan.
While there is no word from Yamaha about the launch of the 2021 R3 in India, we expect the firm to put it on sale here next year and rival the KTM Duke 390 among other bikes in the class.
