Toyota – While the Japanese carmaker is introducing rebadged Maruti cars in India, the Australian market is getting some performance models. The Toyota CH-R in Australia just got a GR Sport variant. It comes with sporty exteriors and updated mechanicals. Powered by a 1.8-litre hybrid unit producing 128 BHP. It comes with tweaked suspension and steering for improved handling.
Ford – The American carmaker has introduced yet another performance oriented variant for the Ford Mustang Mach-E. The new GT Performance Edition comes with 480 HP and 860 Nm of torque. The 0-100 km/hr acceleration takes 3.5 seconds. The driving range on single charge is claimed to be 378 km. It comes with the same 88 kWh battery pack as the regular GT model.
Indian Oil – The oil company has introduced the country’s first 100 Octane petrol which is called XP100. This is currently the highest octane fuel available in India for performance cars and bikes. It will be available at limited Indian Oil fuel stations in Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Agra, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Mumbai, Pune and Ahmedabad. It is priced at Rs. 160 per litre in Delhi.
Formula 1 – Quite a lot of action in the world of Formula 1. Michael Schumacher’s son Mick Schumacher has been confirmed for multiple year contract for Haas starting from 2021. Lewis Hamilton has tested positive for COVID-19 and he will miss the Sakhir GP. He will be replaced by George Russel. Meanwhile Jack Aitken will race for Williams as Russel replacement.
