2021 Mahindra Thar Convertible Top Cost
The compact off-road SUV is very much in demand at the moment

Mahindra will increase the cost of the 2021 Thar from 1st December onwards due to the off-road vehicle’s introductory pricing coming to an end.

When launched, the 2021 Mahindra Thar cost from Rs. 9.80 lakhs (ex-showroom, India) for the base AX variant and the price went all the way up to Rs. 13.75 lakhs (ex-showroom, India) for the top-spec LX automatic hard top.

However, Mahindra recently took away the base AX variant and now it is the AX Optional trim costing Rs. 11.90 lakhs (ex-showroom, India) that serves as the entry-level variant.

The price hike is expected to be formally announced on 1st December (tomorrow) and it is likely that the 2021 Mahindra Thar cost might increase by up to Rs. 15,000/-.

Customers who book the off-road compact SUV before 1st December 2020 would be able to take advantage of the introductory pricing, while others will have to bear the increased asking price.

As things stand, the waiting period for the Thar is pretty long for all of the variants since it is in very high demand and has raked in more than 20,000 orders so far.

To reduce the waiting period, Mahindra has stated that it will increase production to 3000 units and aims to achieve the target by January 2021.

That aside, no changes will be made to the off-roader and it will continue to be powered by a 150 HP 2.0-litre turbo petrol and a 130 HP 2.2-litre turbo diesel.
