BMW has launched the all-new 2021 X5 M Competition with a price tag of Rs. 1.94 crores (ex-showroom) in India.
Brought in as a CBU, the powerful SUV, says BMW, is designed and engineered to offer unrivalled performance.
Any BMW “M” car can be distinguished by their striking exterior features and the X5 M Competition is no different. It has an extrovert appearance and sports large air intake openings upfront.
There is all-LED lighting, staggered setup alloy wheels (21-inch at the front, 22-inch at the rear), while at the rear there are roof and lower tailgate spoilers. Also, BMW offers plenty of exterior colour choices.
Interior of the car is luxurious and has gotten the M treatment with bespoke controls, M leather steering wheel, integrated headrests, M multifunction seats, and Black Extended Merino leather upholstery.
The all-new BMW X5 M Competition price gets customers features such as a 12.3-inch touchscreen, panorama glass roof, voice control, BMW Virtual Assistant and BMW Live Cockpit Professional, among others, as standard, while BMW Gesture Control is optional.
Other optional items include different leather upholstery, Rear Seat Entertainment Professional and customers can also dive deep into BMW Individual to create exclusive paintwork and interior trims.
Powering the car is a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 that puts out 625 HP at 6,000 RPM and a peak torque of 750 Nm between 1800–5600 RPM. It is mated to an 8-speed auto gearbox which sends power to all 4 wheels.
Such power figures enable the BMW X5 M Competition to do the 0-100 km/hr sprint in 3.8 seconds and achieve an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/hr.
Cruise control with braking function is offered as standard along with launch control function as well, while there is adaptive suspension with electronically controlled dampers and active roll stabilisation to manage the ride.
Ride modes now include a “Track” option in addition to Road and Sport modes, and even the brake system has two settings for pedal feel, namely Comfort and Sport.
As is the case with BMWs, the performance SUV is loaded with cutting edge safety tech (there are additional optional kit too) and comes with adaptive LED headlights, parking assist, reversing assist, among others as standard.
