Mercedes-Benz plans to incorporate hybrid technology to all variants of the next generation Mercedes C-Class which is due by 2013. The hybrid technology in the 2013 C-Class will work similar to the Mahindra Scorpio Hybrid, where the electric motor will work at low speeds and boost fuel efficiency by 10%. The next generation C-Class will be powered by 4-cylinder engines featuring cylinder deactivation technology making the cylinders run on two cylinders and saving crucial amount of fuel. Overall weight reduction of the car is also aimed at with the new C-Class being lighter by upto 200kgs.
