Ducati has expanded the Panigale V4 family in 2021 by introducing the new SP version, which marks the return of the “Sport Production” model.
Before we go into the details, let me sum up the bike in simple terms. It is neither a Superleggera nor an R, but is a V4 S with a dry clutch, carbon components and wheels, Brembo brakes and a fancy paint scheme.
Got it? Good. The numbered model uses the same 1103cc Desmosedici Stradale engine (Euro 5-compliant, of course) as the Panigale V4 S that puts out 214 HP at 13,000 RPM and 124 Nm of max torque at 9500 RPM.
But, it has a slipper dry clutch, like the V4 R and Superleggera. There is an open carbon fibre clutch cover as well, which is a part of the track pack.
In terms of suspension, the 2021 Ducati Panigale V4 SP has Ohlins NIX 30 front forks and TTX 36 rear shock, both with electronic compression and rebound damping adjustment.
Brakes have been poached from the Superleggera. Thus, there are 330 mm semi-floating discs with Brembo Monobloc Stylema calipers upfront and a 245 mm disc at the rear, plus there is a MotoGP-esque remote adjusting device too.
Further, there is an electronic steering damper, carbon fibre rims, carbon fibre winglets, heel guards and front mudguard, adjustable hand levers, individually numbered billet top triple clamp and Rizoma billet footpegs.
However, the best part about the bike is the looks. Featuring a brushed aluminum fuel tank and the Ducati Corse Winter Test livery, it is just an amazing piece of machinery.
Some of the features the bike comes with include ride modes, Ducati Traction Control Evoluzione 3, Cornering ABS EVO, traction control, wheelie control, Ducati Power Launch, quickshifter, among many others.
Priced at $37,000 (Rs. 27.5 lakhs), the bike will not be limited in quantity despite each unit being individually numbered. It will be available overseas from March 2021.
