Update – Hero sold 12,930 units of the Xtreme 160R in the month of September 2020. It was not included in the list for there were confusions regarding the matter, that pertains to the source, which have now been cleared up.
Bajaj Pulsar 150 leads the 150cc bike sales list in September 2020, relegating the Apache series to second position this time around.
The Pulsar 150 sold 38,366 times over with a solid 19 percent growth, while TVS could manage to shift a slightly less number (37,788) of units of its Apache bikes.
Honda’s Unicorn came third with 31,242 unit sales, while the Yamaha FZ saw a strong 25 percent year-over-year (YoY) growth, selling 20,184 units.
Newest entrant into the segment, Honda’s Hornet, was taken home by 8237 customers, while another Honda, the X-Blade, saw 5444 unit sales.
Two other Yamahas featuring in the 150cc bike sales September 2020 list are the R15 and MT-15. The bikes, saw sales of over 4000 units each.
In the last position, sits the Gixxer from Suzuki, selling 1955 units, with a massive 57 percent YoY degrowth.
Another vehicle that witnessed degrowth is the Yamaha R15. The bike saw 32 percent of its sales witnessed during the same period last year, get eroded.
However, there are plenty of positive things to note. Highest growth was recorded by the Yamaha MT-15 at 173 percent, while Honda X-Blade came second with 119 percent growth.
Other bikes in the 150cc bike sales September 2020 list like the Pulsar 150, Apache, FZ and Avenger 160 did well to manage double-digit YoY growth.
Overall sales of the segment too increased well during last month. The top 10 motorcycles registered a strong 46 percent growth combined, having sold close to 1.57 lakh units in the month of September, which is a very positive sign.
