Hyundai – Hyundai has removed the Xcent compact sedan from their official website. The carmaker might have discontinued the compact sedan to offer it as a Prime variant to the fleet buyers while keeping the Aura, which is the successor of the Xcent, for the private buyers.
Toyota – The Japanese carmaker has commenced the deliveries of the Toyota Urban Cruiser. Priced from Rs. 8.40 lakhs (ex-showroom), the Urban Cruiser is a rebadged Maruti Vitara Brezza which comes with a Toyota Fortuner inspired front grille. It is more or less the same apart from a few styling tweaks.
Electric Vehicles – India plans to have EV charging station every 25 km. Currently the electric vehicle infrastructure is very poor in our country. There are very limited charging stations. In order to facilitate faster adoption of electric vehicles, the government has set a goal to improve the EV infra. The proposal invites public sector undertakings (PSU), government organisations, state-owned distribution companies and private companies to set up around 1500 charging stations on 25 expressways and highways.
Helmet – Karnataka transport officials have decided that they’ll suspend helmetless riders’ driving license for 3 months along with levying Rs. 500/- fine.
