The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R has achieved a top speed of 190 km/hr on track and yes, it is a 250cc motorcycle, albeit one with four cylinders and 51 PS, which has done that.
Kawasaki Indonesia released the video of the bike achieving the speed while it was piloted by professional racer from Indonesia, Andi Muhammad Fadly, at the Sentul International Circuit, located near Jakarta.
However, the bike seen in the video is not stock and has had some modifications done to it. It is a custom bike that has body panels made from carbon composite material.
Created by A-Tech Japan, the bike boasts TK chain and sprocket kit, Sunstar disc brakes, Dunlop tyres and a Hepta-Force TSS exhaust. Some parts were also provided by Sniper Japan.
No modifications seem to have been made to the engine. All these changes have helped the Kawasaki ZX-25R top speed hit the 190 km/hr mark, which is frankly brilliant for a machine with only 249cc.
In stock form, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R gets a 249.8cc, in-line 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 51 PS at 15,500 RPM and 22.9 Nm of torque at 14,500 RPM. The redline is at 17,000 RPM.
As seen in the picture below, to achieve its top speed, the ZX-25R had to use every last bit of power that the engine had to give and hit the 190 km/hr mark at the limiter.
Launched in Indonesia earlier this month, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R costs IDR 96,000,000 (Rs. 4.97 lakhs) for the standard variant and IDR 112,900,000 (Rs. 5.85 lakhs) for the top variant named “Special Edition” (both prices on-road).
