Husqvarna Svarpilen 200 Spied — The motorcycle has been undergoing testing near Pune

The Husqvarna Svartpilen 200 has been spotted while undergoing real-world testing near Pune. Husqvarna will be plonking the engine from the KTM Duke 200 in the bike to produce models that are more accessible to buyers.

The 200cc engine from the Duke produces 25 PS of peak power and a little above 19 Nm of peak torque. Couple that with the expected low kerb weight, the small Husky bikes would be nippy to say the least.

At the moment, both the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250 are priced at Rs. 1.84 lakhs (ex-showroom). The 200cc offerings would likely be priced around Rs. 1.5 lakhs (ex-showroom), to become the most affordable Husqvarna products in India.

Although the test mule is completely camouflaged, we can expect the design of the bike to be carried over from the 250cc Svartpilen, as its looks are one of the major attractive points.

The Husqvarna Svartpilen 200, and invariably on the Vitpilen 200, would feature ABS and USD forks, the latter is seen on the test bike. Also, the bikes would most likely weigh well less than 150 kg, since the 250cc siblings themselves do not weigh much more than 150 kg.

Back in May, the waiting period of Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 was reported to have increased to up to three months due to the lockdown restrictions disrupting Bajaj Auto’s supply chain.

Similarly, the waiting period for Vitpilen 250 increased as well, but to a much more palatable 45 days. People had to wait a bit more for KTM products during the same time as well.

Bajaj will likely use its might to get things sorted in the coming months, after which Husqvarna would be able to put the 200cc models on sale. We do not know if the bikes will be released one after another or if both of them would simultaneously hit the market.
