Hyundai Venue Design
At the front, the big grille looks strong and striking. The headlights are uniquely designed and are positioned in the bumper. They are also surrounded by the squarish looking LED DRLs and the indicators placed over the primary headlight. The fog lights look sort of small as they are placed at the bottom of the bumper. The side profile of the Venue looks like the Creta, considering its tight shoulder line. The back of the Hyundai Venue isn’t as engaging as the front on account of its simple design. It also gets 16-inch wheels that look funky too.

The Hyundai Venue comes equipped with an 8.0-inch touch screen, which gives it a floating appeal. The Venue comes with Hyundai’s BlueLink application with a Vodafone-Idea E-Sim incorporated within it, making this vehicle a connected vehicle. It also provides support for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation, Automatic Climate Control, keyless go with a press button start and sunroof. There’s an air purifier that is placed in the cup holder underneath the front centre armrest. With the help of this BlueLink technology, you can control an assortment of features like remote engine start/stop, remote AC control, and so on remotely from your phone.
Hyundai Venue Space
The front seats of the Venue are comfortable and can hold you in a comfortable position. The knee room isn’t great at the rear, and the shoulder room and headroom are sufficient. Overall, the cabin is good for four adults to sit comfortably. The boot has a large capacity of 350-litres. There are also good storage spaces inside.
Hyundai Venue Engine Performance
The Hyundai Venue comes with three engine options. All the engines are BS6 compliant. The 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, diesel engine churns out 100 PS of power at 4000 RPM and a torque output of 240 Nm between 1500 and 2750 RPM. The diesel engine comes with a 6-speed manual transmission. The petrol range includes a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder, Kappa engine which churns out 83.6 PS of power at 6000 RPM and a torque output of 114 Nm at 4000 RPM. This engine comes with a 5-speed manual transmission. The new 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, Turbo GDI engine has a power output of 120 PS at 6000 RPM and a torque output of 171 Nm at 1500-4000 RPM. This engine comes with three transmission choices – 6-speed MT, 6-speed iMT and 7-speed DCT.
Talking about the 1.0-litre, Turbo GDI motor, lower down, it takes its own sweet time to pick up the pace. There is some turbo lag present at the lower RPMs, but once it gets its pace, the power conveyance is exceptionally straight and controlled. Performance is quite strong in the mid-range and top-end. However, the DCT doesn’t shift down quickly when there is a sudden power demand. There is no S mode or the paddle shifters on offer. However, you get Tiptronic to get manual control. If you select a gear and go hard onto the throttle, then it will automatically upshift at the redline on its own.
The 1.5-litre diesel engine is shared with the Verna and Creta and is offered in a lower state of tune in the Venue. The engine scores high on refinement and it also offers good performance. The mid-range has decent punch once the turbo kicks in. The Venue isn’t offered with a diesel automatic option yet. The 1.2 Kappa petrol engine doesn’t offer the punch that you get with the other two engines and it is just fine for commuting. The Venue now gets an iMT variant and this gives it the convenience of driving a manual car without the hassle of a clutch.

The Hyundai Venue diesel has an ARAI rated fuel efficiency of 23.7 km/l. In real-world conditions, you can expect anywhere between 13-17 km/l in city traffic and 17-19 km/l on highways. The Hyundai Venue petrol has an ARAI fuel efficiency of 18.27 km/l. In real-world conditions, you can expect anywhere between 10-13 km/l in city traffic and 13-15 km/l on highways. The Turbo Variant with DCT has an ARAI fuel efficiency of 18.15 km/l. In real-world conditions, you can expect anywhere between 11-13 km/l in city traffic and 13-16 km/l on highways. However, fuel efficiency depends on driving conditions, traffic conditions, and other such external factors. The iMT variant’s fuel economy is expected to be similar to the manual variant’s.

The Hyundai Venue is based on a modified platform of the Hyundai i20. However, the body structure of the Venue is made using 69% Advanced High-Strength Steel (AHSS), and the remaining is High Strength Steel (HSS), which brings about a better drivability experience. The steering feels very light, and it is easy to manoeuvre the Venue in city traffic conditions. However, out on the highway, the steering seems to weigh up pleasantly but doesn’t offer much feedback. There is some measure of body movement present when you corner it harshly. The brakes also function well and have a powerful punch to them.
Hyundai Venue Comfort
The suspension is tuned to be slightly on the stiffer side. It can absorb the shock from bad patches of the roads and potholes consistently, giving the passengers a pleasant experience. The suspension feels a bit stiffer at high speeds. The ride quality of the Venue is good, and there is no discomfort as such.

The body structure of the Venue is made using 69% Advanced High-Strength Steel (AHSS). Two airbags for the driver and the passenger alongside ABS are standard across all the trims while the top variants get six airbags. ISOFIX child seat mounts, seat belt reminder (driver + passenger), high-speed alert, immobilizer, and central locking are standard across all the variants.

Hyundai Venue Upcoming Models
Hyundai recently launched the iMT and Sport variants of the Venue. iMT sits in between the automatic transmission and manual transmission. It offers two pedals like that in an automatic and an H type gear shifter like a manual transmission. The clutch is governed by the various sensors that can engage or disengage the clutch whenever a gear is shift is done. The Transmission Control Unit (TCU) gets a signal from the Transmission Gear shift (TGS) lever whenever the driver wants to change the gears. It then sends the signal to the hydraulic actuators from hydraulic pressure. This pressure is then transferred through a concentric slave cylinder (CSC) by the clutch tube, and the concentric slave cylinder uses this pressure to control the clutch and pressure plate. Hyundai isn’t expected to launch any new model of the Venue in the near future.
