2020 Aprilia Storm has been launched by Piaggio India with the scooter’s price pegged at Rs. 91,321/- (ex-showroom, Pune).
The Vespa SXL entry-level 125cc variant costs Rs. 1.14 lakhs while the Vespa VXL scooter has been priced at Rs. 1.10 lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom Pune).
Bookings for the Vespa SXL, VXL and Aprilia Storm can be done online and customers can avail of benefits worth Rs. 2000/- by booking the scooters for Rs. 1000/-. Bookings can also be done at the dealership.
First up, the Aprilia Storm. Newly available with the scooter is a digital cluster and importantly a 220 mm twin pot caliper disc brake at the front. It still comes with a 150 mm drum assisted by Combined Braking System (CBS).
The 2020 Aprilia Storm gets a BS6 compliant 125cc 3-valve engine that puts out 9.52 HP at 7250 RPM and 9.9 Nm at 6250 RPM.
The scooter can be had in one of four colours, while 12-inch black alloy wheels and body graphics are also present.
Now, the Vespas. Piaggio had recently opened bookings for the facelifted Vespa SXL and VXL scooters that can be had with 125cc and 150cc engines.
They now get LED headlight that Vespa calls crystal illumination with DRLs in the centre, USB port and boot light. Other features remain the same.
The BS6 engines on the Vespa SXL and VXL are also unchanged, with the 124.45cc, air-cooled motor producing 9.79 HP and 9.60 Nm, while the 149.5cc air-cooled motor produces 10.32 HP and 10.60 Nm.
