Ford Figo Petrol AT Launch In August
Ford India will be looking to ride the current wave of people preferring personal mobility than before.
Ford Figo petrol AT launch has been scheduled to take place in August, after the auto option was discontinued earlier this year.
The automatic gearbox is the 6-speed torque converter unit used earlier in the Figo with the 1.5-litre Dragon petrol and here it will be mated to the 1.2-litre Dragon engine.
The BS6 compliant engine produces 96 HP and 119 Nm and the introduction of the auto box will help the Ford Figo gain momentum in the market.
Ford might be reintroducing the automatic box once again to capitalise on the current market trend where more people are buying cars to avoid public transport.
An auto box will make it easy for first-time drivers, while also making it an attractive proposition for keen drivers.
Why? The Ford Figo petrol AT is likely to come with paddle shifters like the EcoSport, making it a fun prospect, that is why. The Figo is also a good handling machine, it loves to hit the corners.
This will be the third time Ford will be offering an auto with the Figo. In January, the automatic trims of the Figo and Aspire were discontinued. They were priced at Rs. 7.69 lakhs and Rs 9.10 lakhs (ex-showroom).
The BS6 compliant Figo comes with a starting price of Rs. 5.39 lakhs (ex-showroom). To be available at showrooms soon after its launch, expect the Ford Figo petrol AT to be priced above Rs. 8 lakhs (ex-showroom).
