Honda CBF 190 R Patent Side
The 200cc naked will take design cues from the CBF 190R sold in China

The market is slowly getting back on track as people are buying their own vehicles due to COVID-19 fears and a new Honda 200cc bike launch will do well to capitalise on that.

The launch of the bike is expected to happen next month with deliveries starting not too long after.

Honda had only recently launched the BS6 X-Blade at Rs. 1.06 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). It was in the recent past that Honda patented the CBF 190R in India.

The bike is sold in the Chinese market under Sundiro Honda and it could well inspire the 200cc bike that will be launched here.

Design-wise, the Honda CBF 190R-inspired bike could sport an evolutionary design version of the CB Hornet 160R.

It will have sharp creases all-round with a highly-angled headlight, small fairing, wide fuel tank panels, along with a clip-on handlebar and new graphics.

Powered by a 184cc air-cooled single-cylinder motor that produces 16.86 PS and 16.3 Nm of torque, the CBF 190R is not on terms with the 200cc class.

However, the new Honda 200cc bike would likely have more power to be competitive in terms of performance.

To do that, Honda will use its PGM-Fi technology and HET to not only give it more power, but good economy figures as well.

The USD front forks on the China bike will not make it to our shores to keep costs in check, but it will have disc brakes, front and back and dual-channel ABS.

If Honda does not provide the new 200cc bike with solid power, then it would try to price the bike aggressively in the market to gain traction.

The new Honda 200cc bike launch when it happens next month will reveal the name, which is speculated to be the CB Hornet 200R, CB 200R or X-Blade 200.

When launched, the new Honda 200cc bike will rival the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.
