Bigger capacity Svartpilen spotted on test

Husqvarna is currently testing their new range of high capacity motorcycles. One of them is the Norden 901 adventure motorcycle. It was revealed in its concept form and the design was appreciated a lot.

Apart from the Norden ADV, Husqvarna is testing the bigger capacity Svartpilen. Both the motorcycles will get the same twin-cylinder engine from KTM 890 Duke R.

Due to its fairing, the Norden ADV was hiding the engine details. The naked Svartpilen however, revealed the engine details through the latest spy shots. The two exhaust pipes from the engine confirm the twin-cylinder unit powering the bike.

The architecture of the engine looks exactly like the one seen on KTM 890 Duke R. There’s even a small KTM lettering in orange if you notice in these spy shots.

It is a parallel-twin, liquid-cooled, 890cc, DOHC engine. This motor produces 121 HP at 9250 RPM and 99 Nm of torque at 7750 RPM, paired to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch.

Husqvarna is expected to retune the engine for the Svartpilen 901. The bike comes with LED headlight and tail light. The body work in the spy shot is not complete to hide the details.

We can expect latest tech on offer with high-end electronics. India launch seems possible but only via CKD/CBU import once launched globally.
