Triumph has recalled Street Triple RS, Speed Triple RS and Tiger 1200 in US.
Triumph Motorcycles has issued a recall in USA for Street Triple RS, Speed Triple RS and Tiger 1200 produced between 2018 and 2020.
The affected bikes have been recalled for faulty brake pads as few units in the country have been found with faulty units.
The motorcycles recalled have Brembo brake pads with a high content of nickel that increases tendency of absorbing large amounts of water and salt. This could accelerate corrosion process and lead to pads falling off the back plate without warning. This in turn can lead to sudden brake failure without brake pad and also cause disc damage.
The brake pads of the affected units will be replaced free of cost. There is no global announcement from Triumph Motorcycles for this recall, it is expected to be limited to USA only.
Triumph Motorcycles India has not made any official announcement regarding this recall yet.
