Volkswagen to launch 296 HP T-Roc GT in India next year.
Volkswagen recently launched the T-Roc in India before the lockdown started in the country. The VW T-Roc comes with a price tag of Rs. 19.99 lakhs (ex-showroom).
The German carmaker offers the T-Roc in a range-topping single variant which is imported via CBU. The first batch of the car has already been sold out in India and VW is considering to locally assemble the T-Roc in our country.
Now Volkswagen is also considering to introduce the performance oriented Volkswagen T-Roc GT in India. It is available in the international markets as T-Roc R but since our country is familiar with VW’s GT lines, it’ll be introduced as T-Roc GT.
We expect the carmaker to offer it with a 2.0-litre TSI turbo petrol unit, which is also being offered with the Tiguan Allspace.
This engine in the T-Roc GT churns out 300 PS at 5000 RPM and 400 Nm of torque at 2000-5200 RPM, mated to a 7-speed DSG auto transmission. VW claims 0-100 km/hr timing of 4.8 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/hr.
The exteriors of the T-Roc GT are more sporty compared to the regular model. It will get all the bells and whistles loaded to the brim. We can expect it to be priced upwards of Rs. 35 lakhs (ex-showroom) in India.
