News highlights of the day include Skoda, BMW, Indian and Mahindra.
Skoda – The Skoda Octavia RS 245 has been sold out in the country. The Czech carmaker allotted only 200 units for the Indian car market and almost all of them have been sold out. The deliveries will commence soon after the lockdown is over while the cars have started arriving at dealerships.
BMW – The German luxury carmaker will introduce the much awaited BMW M8 and 8-Series Gran Coupe in India soon. The luxury performance car will be launched online amid the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. Dealerships will commence bookings soon. It is expected to come with a starting price of Rs. 1.4 crores (ex-showroom).
Indian FTR Carbon – The premium American motorcycle maker has teased their upcoming bike online. It is the Indian FTR Carbon that will be revealed on 1st May. The bike comes with carbon fibre elements. Likely to feature the same 1203cc V-twin engine.
Mahindra – The Indian carmaker was about to introduce the new XUV300 Sportz in April. The launch has been delayed due to the ongoing pandemic situation. It will come with a new 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 130 PS and 230 Nm of torque. Once the operations get to normal, we can expect the launch of the XUV300 Sportz soon.
