Genesis has revealed their new generation luxury sedan – G80
Genesis is a premium luxury brand owned by Hyundai which has not yet been launched in India. However, it is expected to come soon to our country with the launch of their SUV lineup.
The South Korean luxury brand has revealed their new generation G80 sedan. In terms of styling, it takes inspiration from its bigger GV80 sibling.
The front profile is dominated by a huge grille. There are split horizontal headlights including LED DRLs. The side profile reveals its huge dimensions. The roofline gets a coupe silhouette. The rear profile uses a similar headlight inspired split tail lamp styling.
The Genesis G80 comes with a rich interior. The steering wheel might look familiar to the latest Hyundai family design. The instrument cluster is all-digital measuring 12.3-inches. The touchscreen infotainment system has a 14.5-inch unit.
The dashboard gets a layered design with unique colour tones of the upholstery across the interior. There are wood trims and brushed aluminium finish accents. The fancy gear selector knob is finished in a shiny crystal unit.
Some of the unique features of the Genesis G80 includes Autonomous Braking, Active Blind-Spot Monitoring and Remote Parking which we see in some BMW cars these days.
Powering the G80 are a couple of petrol and a single diesel engine option. The petrol motor is a 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 304 HP and 422 Nm of torque.
There is a bigger 3.5-litre V6 turbo petrol as well churning out 380 HP and 530 Nm of torque. There is a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine on offer producing 210 HP and 441 Nm of torque.
It is available with both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive layouts.
