The UV segment has seen a considerable growth compared to last year.
The majority of the segments are topped by Maruti Suzuki cars and same is the case with the UV segment. The Maruti Ertiga and Eeco have taken the top two spots in February with 11,782 and 11,227 units with 48 percent and 47 percent YoY growth respectively.
The Toyota Innova Crysta is going strong considering the price and new competition, it has scored 5459 units and taken the third place comfortably. However, it has seen 18 percent of negative YoY growth.
Mahindra has sold substantially less units of Bolero compared to Jan. The Indian UV maker was preparing for the new BS6 version and hence only 4067 units dispatched in the month of Feb.
What’s surprising to see here is the considerable numbers of Kia Carnival in Feb with 1620 units. Considering it is a premium MPV, the Carnival has trumped the Mahindra Marazzo in February.
The Toyota Vellfire has seen 42 units in its debut month. There were 0 dispatches of Honda BR-V, Renault Lodgy and Mahindra Thar.
As we all know, we will witness meagre sales numbers in the month of March due to the ongoing COVID-19 and more so in April as the production for all automobiles has stopped due to the 21-day nationwide lockdown.
