Mahindra is working on the costing of Peugeot e-Ludix for India launch.
The electric scooter segment is getting quite competitive day by day. Ather was one of the first prominent introductions in the electric scooter segment with the Ather 450 followed by the recent launch of Bajaj Chetak and TVS iQube.
Now, looking at the growing competition and government’s effort to promote electric two-wheelers, Mahindra is considering to introduce the Peugeot e-Ludix electric scooter in India soon.
The Indian automaker is currently working around to costing of the electric scooter to get the price right for the Indian market. The Peugeot e-Ludix was designed in Pune and is being manufactured in Pithampur for exports to France.
The electric scooter gets a 3 kW Bosch lithium ion battery. It currently has a range of 50 km on full charge and comes with brake energy recovery system. It has a top speed of 45 km/hr and weighs 85 kg.
The specifications for the Indian model are likely to be different. The timeline of the launch is yet to be finalised.
