The Maruti Ciaz S variant features sportier design elements.
Maruti has showcased the Ciaz S at the 2020 Expo. The sporty sedan is based on the top-spec Alpha trim and gets numerous cosmetic changes. The front gets smoked headlights, black grille and blackened housing around the fog lamps. The side features black alloys, rearview mirrors and skirting. The rear gets an all-black spoiler with a black skirting on the bumper.
Inside the beige theme is replaced by all-black. Also gone is the faux wood finish, replaced by a metallic insert. That is the only change to the interior of the car while the rest of it remains the same. There is no change in the equipment on offer.
The Maruti Ciaz S sees no changes on the powertrain front. It continues to be powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine with mild hybrid assistance. The engine is paired either to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed torque converter automatic. The motor produces 103 PS and 138 Nm of torque. The diesel motor is skipped. The Maruti Ciaz S is expected to be pricier than the standard Ciaz and will take on the likes of the Skoda Rapid and Honda City.
