KTM will update the Duke 790 with BS6 compliant engine.
It was rumoured that KTM won’t be updating the Duke 790 with a BS6 compliant engine and eventually it will get discontinued. However, that’s not true and the bike will get a BS6 engine very soon.
Yes, the KTM Duke 790 BS6 version won’t be introduced by the April 2020 deadline but is expected to hit the showrooms in the second quarter of 2020.
The bike is currently under the homologation process. The Austrian brand will import the bike and then work on the mechanicals to comply with the new emission norms. Hence, expect the Duke 790 BS6 version to get a significant price hike.
Currently the KTM Duke 790 is priced at Rs. 8.64 lakhs (ex-showroom). It is powered by a 799cc, parallel-twin engine that produces 105 HP and 86 Nm of torque. We expect the BS6 engine to retain the figures albeit with minor changes.
