Tata Motors will launch the automatic version of the Altroz before the festive season kicks in this year.
Tata Motors launched the Altroz in the Indian market at a price of Rs. 5.29-9.29 lakhs (ex-showroom). The Altroz is positioned in the premium hatchback segment and it rivals the likes of the Maruti Baleno, Toyota Glanza, Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz and Volkswagen Polo.
The Tata Altroz is offered with two engines – 1.2-litre, 3-cyl, Revotron petrol producing 86 PS and 113 Nm and a 1.5-litre, 4-cyl, Revotorq diesel churning out 90 PS and 200 Nm. Both the engines are available with a 5-speed manual transmission only, while an AT isn’t available yet.
It is a known fact that Tata is working on an AT variant and we have now learnt that it will be launched before the festive season kicks in this year, which is still a few months away. The automatic transmission won’t be an AMT and it is likely to be a DCT. The Altroz AT seems to be going through testing rounds still. A lot of customers have been asking for the automatic variant and its launch will give a good boost to the car’s sales.
Both the engines on the Altroz are BS6 compliant and the vehicle also scored a 5-star rating in the Global NCAP crash tests. The Tata Altroz gets a lot of features like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, projectors, cruise control, ambient lighting and so on.
