News highlights of the day include BMW, Renault, Land Rover, Tata Motors and Damon.
BMW – The German luxury carmaker sold 9641 units of cars in the previous calendar year. The sales are 13.1 percent down compared to 2018. In 2019, the BMW X1, X3 and X5 contributed to 50 percent of the sales.
Renault – Renault was the only car manufacturer to show positive growth in 2019 with 7.9 percent of growth in year on year sales. Thanks to the launch of Triber along with updated Kwid and Duster, the French carmaker has managed to sell 88,869 units in 2019.
Range Rover Evoque – The second generation Land Rover Range Rover Evoque was spotted recently hinting about the launch of the car in India. The British luxury SUV maker is now all set to introduce the 2020 Range Rover Evoque in the country on 30th January. It will be offered with 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engine options with BS6 compliance. The SUV gets a completely new design language inspired by the Velar and gets new interior with latest tech on offer.
Tata Motors – The Indian carmaker is all set to introduce a range of new cars thanks to their latest modular platforms. They will have a range of BS6 compliant powertrains on offer including petrol, diesel and CNG engines with manual, automatic and automated-manual transmission options.
Damon Hypersport – It is a Canada based electric bike maker that has come up with Damon Hypersport. It is an electric superbike having 200 HP electric motor. Does 0-100 km/hr under 3 seconds while the top speed is 320 km/hr. It has 323 km range of highway riding while city riding range is 482 km. It weighs less than 226 kg.
