The Volkswagen Polo and the Vento have won 12 awards in 2010 including the title of Car of the Year on three occasions. These awards show the acceptance of Volkswagen cars by the Indian market, which is said to be one of the most competitive in the world. Volkswagen India sold 27,946 units of the Polo and the Vento in 2010.

- Premium Compact Sedan of the year – Vento (ET Zigwheels, NDTV)
- Saloon Car of the year – Vento (BBC Top Gear)
- Mid Size Car of the year – Vento (Car India)
- Design of the year – Vento (NDTV) (the award was shared with the Ford Figo)
