After Mahindra’s takeover of Korean carmaker SsangYong, the Rexton and Korando C’s Indian entry has been confirmed. Mahindra seems to be testing the Rexton in India but not in its original form. Spotted by Varun Sakhuja, the Rexton was found to have the Scorpio’s tail lights along with a slight modification to the rear bumper. The SsangYong Rexton is a SUV based on the last Mercedes-Benz M-Class. It can be configured to seat seven people all facing forwards, or as a five seater for more luggage space. The car is available only with four wheel drive and three engines: a 2.7 liter 121 kW (162 hp) / 342 N·m (252 ft·lbf) common rail diesel, a 2.9 liter diesel and a 3.2 liter 162 kW (217 hp) / 310 N·m (229 ft·lbf) petrol engine, all manufactured under license from Mercedes-Benz. However for India the Rexton will feature the 2.7 liter mill from the Axe (defence vehicle).
