Hyundai will be replacing the CNG filter assembly free of cost.
Hyundai has recalled CNG variants of the Grand i10 and the Xcent owing to a possible CNG filter assembly issue. These vehicles were manufactured between 1st August 2017 – 30th September 2019, mounting up to 16,409 units in total. All these variants have got a factory-fitted CNG kit. Moreover, the recall notice informs that these are non-ABS models.
Hyundai plans to reach out to affected customers starting 25th November and will be replacing the CNG filter assembly free of cost. The correction is likely to take an hour to be completed at the workshop. The Hyundai Grand i10 and Xcent use a 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 65 PS and 98 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Hyundai claims an approximate mileage of 26km/kg and the warranty offered is of one lakh kilometre or 3 years, whichever is earlier. Both the Grand i10 as well as Xcent Prime are BS4-compliant.
Hyundai has recently launched the Grand i10 Nios that gets a BS6-compliant petrol engine and a BS4-compliant diesel engine. There is no CNG version available with the Nios. The hatchback is offered with a manual as well as an automatic transmission.
