The next-gen Hyundai Creta features a huge panoramic sunroof.
Hyundai’s most acclaimed ‘Urban compact SUV,’ even after such fierce competition in the market, manages to pull off the crowd in its awe. Well, finally, the next-gen Hyundai Creta is almost here. The spy shots reveal the Indian-spec Creta test mule on a run for testing.
Though it is almost similar to its Chinese counterpart, the ix25, there are some minor cosmetic changes. The grille design, for one, has a chequered pattern rather than the honeycomb one. Similarly, the wheel design varies (still has the diamond-cut pattern). However, since the outgoing model has many alloy wheel options, the same may be pronounced in the new Creta.
Additionally, it gets a panoramic sunroof, just like we see on the MG Hector. The design language is in accordance with the new Hyundais with the split headlamps, tail lights and the cascading grille. The split headlamp design is much trending in the domestic market. It also endorses the China spec’s square-ish wheel arches.
In terms of interior, speculation says that the model may get lighter shades along with different upholstery texture. It will get a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which will control most of the functions. Furthermore, there will be an all-digital instrument cluster. The model is going to get Hyundai’s BlueLink technology as well.
The new Creta is going to borrow the same 1.5-litre engine options of the Kia Seltos. It would also come with a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol unit that is present in the GT line spec of the Seltos. All the units will be BS6 compliant. Chances are, a mild hybrid powertrain may also make its way.
The next-gen Hyundai Creta is probably going to be unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo and from there on, will be launched in India. Upon its launch, it is going to rival with the MG Hector, Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV500, Nissan Kicks, and the Kia Seltos.
