The bike is going to come in 3 variants

Honda’s highest-selling motorcycle is finally due for changes in order to meet the upcoming BS6 emission norms. Meanwhile, the Activa 125 was the first product in their line-up to be compliant for the same.

The CB Shine 125 produces a reasonable amount of power at 8 kW, or 10.88 PS. Earlier, the figures sat at 10.31 PS. The power unit is coupled with a 4-speed gearbox. Additionally, the wheelbase is longer by 19 mm to 1285 mm, it measures 2020 mm in length, 785 mm in width and 1103 mm in height. Moreover, in its current state, the bike weighs 123 kgs, which again may see a rise.

The bike is mainly going to come in 3 variants – Standard with drum brakes, Deluxe with drum brakes and Deluxe with front disc and rear drum brake. We also expect the company to bring out new colours and themes for the facelift.

Moving on, the same power figures are reflected in the ‘premium’ SP version. It shares the same underpinning, because of which the dimensions too could be changed. However, this version gets a 5-speed gearbox instead of the 4-speed one in the regular CB Shine 125.

The bike currently ranges from Rs. 64,698/- to Rs. 70,667/- (ex-showroom Delhi). So, it is likely for the bike to undergo a price hike of at least Rs. 7000/-. It competes with the likes of the Hero Glamour, Bajaj Pulsar 125 and the Yamaha Saluto 125.
