A lot of new teasers today for the upcoming EICMA and Tokyo Motor Show.
Triumph Thruxton RS – The British bike maker is coming up with a new cafe racer Triumph Thruxton RS that will be positioned above the Thruxton R. The RS version will come with improved specs and special colour scheme. It will be revealed on 5th November, 2019.
BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe – BMW has revealed their entry-level sedan that will be positioned below the BMW 3-Series in their lineup. It competes directly against the Mercedes CLA. It comes with the latest tech including 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, 9.2-inch heads up display, park distance control, Dynamic Cruise Control, Frontal Collision Warning, City Collision Mitigation, Active Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Warning system with active lane return, etc. It will be available in the global markets with both diesel and petrol engine options. Expected to come to India by 2021.
Kia Seltos Exports – Kia Motors has commenced exports from India. They have shipped their first consignment of 471 units of Seltos to the Middle East and South Asian countries.
KTM Super Duke 1290 R – KTM has officially teased the 2020 KTM Super Duke 1290 R. The new litre-class motorcycle from the Austrian bike maker will make its debut at the EICMA show in Milan on 5th November.
Toyota Yaris – The fourth generation Toyota Yaris has made its official debut. It comes with a new design language and is based on the Toyota New Global Architecture. It is shorter, wider and lower but gets longer wheelbase for more interior room. Comes with twin digital meters, 10-inch heads up display, wireless charger, heated steering wheel, ambient lighting, etc. It will be available with a 1.5-litre Hybrid Dynamic Force powertrain as well as 1.5-litre and 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol engines.
2020 Honda Jazz – The new generation Jazz has been teased and it will be fully revealed at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show next week on 23rd October. It will be getting a new design language inside out and new powertrain options.
Odd-Even Rule – The odd-even rule is coming back to Delhi. It will be implemented from 4th to 15th November. However, this time CNG vehicles won’t be exempted from the rule. Women drivers and specially abled drivers will be exempted.
BMW F850R – Patent images of the new BMW F850R have been leaked and we expect BMW Motorrad to introduce the new bike at the EICMA show. The 2020 F850R gets substantial design and hardware updates but it will most likely retain the same engine.
Motor Trivia – The Bajaj Pulsar was launched in 2001 and was developed with an investment of one billion rupees. However, the Pulsar wasn’t the first 150cc motorcycle in the market as the Hero Honda CBZ started the 150cc segment in India in 1999.
Comment of the day – Prateek Mishra – “Looks like Yamaha is in no mood to let FZ stay in Indian market. I mean 18.6 PS is tolerable from a 155cc mill but 12.4 PS, that too from a 150cc mill which gives real world economy of around 45 km/l is nowhere acceptable, that too with 10% increased prices. Looks like Yamaha is trying to push the sales of Gixxer and Hornet.”
