Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 Spied On Test
The motor is likely to be BS6-compliant

A set of spy shots of the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 has surfaced online showing off the bike in a near-production avatar. It is expected that the production of the 401 twins will begin soon as some KTM dealerships have already begun bookings for the same. Even the KTM dealerships are set to undergo a slight makeover to facilitate sales of the new Husqvarnas.

The Svartpilen 401 seems to be severely Indianised. The spoke rims shod with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres have been replaced with alloy rims lifted off the Duke 390. It also gets specially developed block pattern tyres from MRF. The standard mudguard has been fitted with the India-mandatory saree guards. The rear turn indicators have been moved from it to either side of the brake light as well.

At the rear, the pillion rider gets a grab handle while the sharp tail design remains unchanged. The seating area is likely to be longer on the India-spec bikes but we will confirm the same once the final bikes are revealed.

The Svartpilen 401 and the Vitpilen 401 will draw power from the 373.2cc single-cylinder mill from the KTM Duke 390.  Mated to a 6-speed gearbox, power figures will be around 43.5 PS and 37 Nm. The motor will be BS6-compliant.

The Vitpilen 401 cafe racer is likely to be priced at Rs. 3.00 lakhs – Rs. 3.20 lakhs while the Svartpilen 401 could be tagged at Rs. 3.10 – Rs. 3.30 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
