Tata Motors is planing to launch an automatic variant of the Nano this year. The company is currently negotiating with C-tech (a Canadian auto components company) for manufacturing parts of the CVT Nano. Once the deal goes ahead, C-tech will be setting up shop at Sanand and will supply vital components for the CVT box. The Tata Nano CVT will be launched by the end of this year and will be the cheapest automatic car in the country. It is expected to cost Rs. 20,000/- more than the manual variant.
