The Skoda Kodiaq Scout will get more rugged looks and additional features.
Skoda is adding another variant to its flagship SUV named the Kodiaq Scout. The vehicle will be launched on 30th September 2019. It will be an additional variant for the SUV that is likely to be placed above the L&K variant. This will be a more off-road-oriented variant with sort of a jagged up look.
The Skoda Kodiaq Scout will swank its rugged look with the use of additional black plastic cladding and slightly newly designed bumpers, in addition to silver skid plates. The mirror caps will be finished in silver, along with the grille. A completely new design of the 19-inch anthracite alloy wheels can also be noticed. It also sports the ‘Scout’ badging on the front fenders and roof rails as well.
Like the exterior, the interior of the Kodiaq Scout has also been revised with the addition of some new materials such as Alcantara upholstery on the seats, wood inserts on the dashboard and some grey insert in the cabin as well. The Scout badging can be spotted on the seats and on the dashboard.
Meanwhile, there will not be any significant change to the drivetrain. India-bound Skoda Kodiaq Scout will continue to sport the 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that’s currently offered on the Kodiaq range. The powertrain generates an output of 150 PS and 340 Nm of torque while being mated to a 7-speed DSG transmission. The Scout sold overseas gets 4-wheel drive as standard. However, it will sport a dedicated off-road mode which will adjust the electronics for a better off-road experience.
Features like adaptive LED headlamps, keyless entry, push start/stop, 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, etc will be offered in the Kodiaq Scout. Since the SUV is expected to be positioned above the range-topping L&K variant, expect a premium in price as well.
