The Renault Kwid facelift will carry forward some elements from the Triber sub-4-metre 7-seater MPV.
Barely a month after launching the Triber, Renault is gearing up to introduce another vehicle, the Kwid facelift in India sometime early next month. After being spotted multiple times, it is revealed that the car will come in 4 variants. It gets a split-headlamp setup with LED DRLs at the top and main headlamp units below. It will sport a refreshed face with a tweaked grille, restyled bumpers and tail-lamps with LED elements.
The Renault Kwid facelift will carry forward some elements from the Triber like the digital instrument cluster with a tachometer, an 8-inch touchscreen, and the steering wheel. Expect the car to be a little bit safer as it will receive structural upgrades to meet the upcoming crash test norms.
The Kwid facelift will continue to draw power from the same, but BS6-compliant set of engines, the 0.8-litre petrol engine churning 54 PS and a 1.0-litre petrol engine producing 68 PS. A manual gearbox and an AMT will be on offer.
Just like the current model, the Kwid facelift will rival the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, Datsun redi-GO and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki S-Presso in the Indian market.
