The KTM Duke 890 will be a successor to the Duke 790.
The much-awaited and talked about KTM Duke 790 has been doing rounds for a while now. Just two days ago it was informed that the KTM Duke 790 is set for an early September launch. However, there is information that this model will be replaced by the KTM Duke 890 in India next year.
Euro 4 compliant KTM 790 Duke was unveiled at the 2017 EICMA motorcycle show and has been available in the international markets for more than a year. The KTM Duke 890 will be a successor to this motorcycle. Meanwhile, it is most likely that the Duke 790 will be available in India but in limited numbers and in the year 2020, the Duke 890 will replace it in the line-up. Interested customers can either wait for the Duke 890 that will offer marginally higher performance numbers and pricetag or buy the Duke 790 at a lower asking price.
The KTM Duke 790 is powered by a 799cc LC2 parallel-twin engine that churns out 105 PS and 86 Nm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a bi-directional quicker-shifter. The motorcycle is equipped with launch control, cornering ABS, 4 riding modes and traction control system with lean-angle sensor. It is expected to be priced over Rs. 8 lakhs with the on-road price being around Rs. 10 lakhs.
