The TVS Apache 160 has been spied with a BS6 compliant motor and some cosmetic changes.
The BS6 TVS Apache RTR 160 4V has been spied with quite a few changes. The motorcycle is likely to debut towards the end of 2019. Apart from a new BS6 compliant motor, the bike is not expected to get any other mechanical changes.
The BS6-compliant Apache RTR 160 4V gets a redesigned headlamp and the bikini-faring appears to be bigger than before. The bike gets a horizontally split headlamp which is expected to be a part of the updated RTR 200 4V as well.
Currently, the Apache RTR 160 4V is offered in a carbureted as well as a fuel-injected variant. However, the BS6 trim will most likely use the latter which as of now delivers 16.8 PS of power and 14.8 Nm of peak torque. The power and output figures on the BS6 version are not expected to change significantly. Meanwhile, the gearbox will continue to be a 5-speed unit.
The TVS Apache RTR 160 4V BS6 is not expected to bear any other mechanical changes. The motorcycle will continue to employ a 270 mm petal disc at the front and at the rear, it can either get a 130 mm drum or 200 mm disc brake. A single-channel ABS will be offered as standard. Front suspension will consist of telescopic forks and a monoshock for the rear.
The EFI variant with a rear disc is currently priced at Rs. 99,101/- (ex-showroom, Delhi). The BS6-compliant engine coupled with cosmetic updates will add to the cost of the new variant. It will rival the Honda X-Blade, the Bajaj Pulsar 160 NS and the Yamaha FZ V3.
